Joshuah Brian Campbell

About Joshuah
The incredible Joshuah Brian Campbell is waiting to make your acquaintance. Born and raised in the hometown of the legendary Dizzy Gillespie, Joshuah’s music is a reflection of his upbringing in Cheraw, South Carolina, his commitment to the study and practice of the Southern Black Gospel tradition and the work he does to rekindle Gospel and Soul to their once intimate and indistinguishable origins.
Venturing out of Cheraw, Joshuah soared to Cambridge to raise his voice in the prestigious halls of Harvard University. There, he honed in on his craft and elevated the overture of his artistry. From Cambridge, to Paris, and New York, Joshuah is clear on the role of the artist. His soulful anthem “Stand Up”, earning him nominations for both an Oscar and a Grammy Award, underscores this responsibility.
His debut LP, “Days Like These”, extends from a heartfelt invitation to stand up for love/desire, community and against the vexing that this World is made to cause. It is through this artistic and musical grounding that the listener is encouraged to remember the whole of their existence. To hold the sacred and profane in a single breath, note or chord. Joshuah is a musical shepherd eager to endear us to the truth of whole human existence.
Days… is a sonic, spiritual, and emotional revival that harkens to the importance of the Black rural south as the vessel for which all American music and genius emanates.
Together with his collaborator and co-writer Solomon Fox, they weave a transformative story that beautifully incorporates rich Soul and Gospel roots. Joshuah Brian Campbell’s Days…recalls us to the power and universality of truth.
Join us in celebrating the incredible journey of Joshuah Campbell, a true testament to the power of music and the resilience of the human spirit.
